Saying no to New York

So much pressure hangs in New York to see this, eat that and build up cultural knowledge of who has the best brunch, the best burger, the best barbecue. Those are smart things to know when choosing how to spend often hard-earned cash. But meanwhile the laundry piles up, the books to read stack up, and the disorder in overpriced apartments intensifies.

New York, tell yourself, no you don’t need to catch that Monday night concert. No, you don’t need to wait 50 minutes to eat there. No, you don’t need to shiver outside that pop-up store at 6 a.m.

Sit back. Take in the view.

Smile, because you’ve made it to the city.
