Yesterday’s convocation ended with a grand finale at Radio City Music Hall. Somehow being rushed in with a crowd of fellow students decreased the graduer of the place. Yet once the deans and the president marched in to the music of Scottish bagpipes, the hall regained its magnificence.
We were, the class of 2014, sitting where the Christmas Spectacular is performed every year. “Together we make NYU.” President John Sexton ended his speech on an untraditional note – student hugs – reminiscent of church gatherings. Only God was lacking. And what a difference that made.
