The longer I live here, the more I appreciate this massive hub of activity. There’s no other city in the world so synonymous with the both the arts and the economy. Here, in this melting pot of the world, we have the United Nations and the world’s largest gold reserve at the Federal Reserve Bank. Eight million (and counting!) residents; over a hundred nations. Regardless of our background, we’re all proud to be New Yorkers. Even the grand finale of a Taiwanese concert last week was “New York, New York.”
In the days to come I’ll be discussing some books in an effort to understand what makes New York so dynamic.
