Brown black dirt
Crumbling through my hands
Oozing through my fingers
The goodness of the earth wells up in me.
How long has it been since I’ve been outside, really outside? We take the bus and the subway, we walk to the library, and we drive the mall, but we don’t encounter the real world. The world is not the concrete structures we’ve made for ourselves but the life that springs up from the earth beneath us. It is the creation of God.
What is man that God is mindful of Him? God’s creation is so wonderful and so inspiring, it does, as Paul says, make the wisdom of man look like foolishness.
